Verstappen tells Las Vegas Grand Prix: 'Not going to name names, but 100%'

Max Verstappen, now a three-time world champion, recently criticised the show called the Las Vegas Grand Prix. In an interview with Viaplay, Verstappen clarifies these statements. Verstappen will start the Grand Prix from the second starting spot. He qualified third but was allowed to move up because of Carlos Sainz's grid penalty.

"Some people like it [the show] more than others," opens the Dutchman. "And I just find it less fun to do. Of course, it is very nice what they have built here, but I think you should not lose sight of what Formula 1 actually stands for. That, of course, is the performance and speed of the car and not what happens around it," said the Red Bull driver.

Verstappen reveals

When Verstappen is asked if drivers agree with him, the truth comes out. "Some do, but I also think many drivers like to say what I say, just the opposite," reveals the number-one driver on the car. "I'm not going to name names. But yes, 100%. It's also not my problem in the end," Verstappen added.

During the first free practice session, a manhole cover was loose, costing Sainz dearly. A vote afterwards showed that nine out of 10 teams disagreed on the Ferrari driver's grid penalty, including Verstappen's team. After qualifying for the Grand Prix, Verstappen talked about this vote and gave his opinion.
