Alonso understands Verstappen wanting to quit: 'I feel the same way'
Max Verstappen has indicated several times that he is thinking about quitting Formula 1 after his contract expires in 2028. Fernando Alonso indicates to GPblog and others that he is thinking of quitting. But you never know for sure.
Verstappen is not a fan of all the frenzy surrounding Formula 1. F1 gets a lot of criticism from the Dutchman, especially about the different formats being tested in the premier class of motorsport in recent years. The three-time world champion has also indicated that he no longer sees himself driving around in the midfield.
Alonso understands Verstappen
Alonso has been in Formula 1 a bit longer and knows how things can run. Yet Verstappen can count on understanding from the Spaniard: "I feel the same way, to be honest. But you never know. I thought that way as well in 2006 or 07. I remember signing for McLaren in 2007, and it was like a three-year contract. I thought at that time that that was my last contract. And here we are. So I cannot say anything for the future now."
