Ferrari staff makes switch to Red Bull to join Max Verstappen’s team
- Wouter Bos
As mentioned earlier, Max Verstappen was to say goodbye to his performance coach Bradley Scanes, who had decided to quit after four years because he wanted to be more at home. At the time, it was not known who would succeed him. We now know who it is.
Rupert Manwaring, currently coach of Carlos Sainz, is making the move to the Red Bull team to become Max Verstappen's performance coach, the De Telegraaf as well as Chris Medland reports this morning. Manwaring has worked with the Spaniard for eight seasons and has joined him after each of the driver's team transfers. So this is not the first time the British performance coach has come under new leadership.
Experience with the Verstappen family
Rupert Manwaring is named after his father, likewise thus Rupert Manwaring. Manwaring senior already has more than enough experience in Formula 1, having worked with Jos Verstappen at various teams in the late 1990s and early part of this century.
