Max Verstappen broke numerous records in the 2023 Formula 1 season, in which he and Red Bull Racing were extremely dominant. The Dutchman has repeatedly expressed that he cares little for records, although there are a few he does like to have. These include a record currently held by Lewis Hamilton that he may want to set his sights on.

Verstappen's vision has changed

At the start of his F1 career, Verstappen had only two goals: to win a Grand Prix and then take a world title to his name. After succeeding in the latter, the Red Bull driver claimed he had achieved everything he wanted in the premier class. Still, all those victories gave him the taste for more, and so Verstappen has revised his opinion somewhat.

Confronted with the fact that he initially thought 'only' one world title was enough, Verstappen admits he has a slightly different view these days. "That is true. My vision has changed," the three-time world champion said in a conversation with Swiss Blick. "Why shouldn't I win if I get the chance?"

Verstappen has finished in the points 41 times in a row. That is not yet a record - that is still held by Hamilton, who has finished in the top 10 48 times in a row. When asked, Verstappen responded soberly: "Just a record, maybe I can break it."
