Ferrari has had an eventful season. The Italian team had to watch at the beginning as mainly Red Bull Racing and Fernando Alonso shared the podium places, but towards the end of the season the Scuderia performed better and better. Carlos Sainz talks to Spanish bank Santander about the development of the car during the Formula 1 season.

Red Bull started the season well. Pole positions mostly stayed within the Austrian team, and every race in the first half of the season was won by them. Ferrari were left disappointed, after a year in which, mainly at the beginning of the season, they were very strong. The other teams also disappointed, and so some people reckoned that Red Bull would win every race in 2023. However, that was not the case: Ferrari had a good weekend in Singapore, and Sainz managed to win the race.

Sainz hopes Ferrari can continue to develop

Consequently, the Spaniard says his car has improved a lot through the year: "If we compare to Red Bull, we got closer in qualifying. During the races, they were just very strong all season. Our weakpoint against Red Bull was the rhythm during the races, but compared to Mercedes we were [at the end of the season] in a better position than before. McLaren also devleoped very much, but Ferrari moved forward a lot, and I hope we move forward even more."
