Palmer picks 'moment of the year' F1 season 2023: 'Genius in the cockpit'
Despite Jolyon Palmer electing the Las Vegas Grand Prix as 'Grand Prix of the Year', he still chose another race at the 'moment of the year.' Red Bull Racing was dominant in 2023, but that ended very briefly in Singapore. Carlos Sainz won the race after a crazy final stage, Palmer observed.

"The Singapore finale was one of the best I can remember, maybe the best ever, with four cars fighting tooth and nail on a tricky street circuit," Palmer explained. "It was a slow, slow race, which is why Las Vegas is the race of the year for me, but Singapore 2023 will forever be an example of why it pays to sit out some boring races for an explosive finale," explained the 32-year-old Briton.
Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were virtually nowhere on the track on behalf of Red Bull Racing. The RB19 was not made for Singapore's street circuit. "Sainz was a genius in the cockpit. Norris went all out to take his first win. While Mercedes deserves recognition for adopting a brave strategy in an attempt to win, rather than settle for a podium finish."
