F1 analyst Windsor praises Horner: 'In that he has done a great job'

Peter Windsor has nothing but praise for Christian Horner in a recent livestream on his YouTube channel. The Red Bull Racing team boss has been managing the Austrian Formula One team for almost 20 years and was recently awarded a high British award (CBE) for his achievements. A well-deserved recognition, the F1 analyst believes.
Windsor praises Horner
Horner was awarded the title CBE (Commander of the British Empire) for his leadership in transforming Red Bull into the leading team it has become. "His clear vision for what it takes to assemble a Formula 1 team and make it a winner is impressive," Windsor applauded the Red Bull team boss's achievements.
As the most important act Horner has done for Red Bull, Windsor cites attracting Adrian Newey from McLaren. "From day one, when he accepted the job at Red Bull, he knew he needed Adrian Newey. He convinced Dietrich Mateschitz that they had to have Adrian, and Dietrich trusted Christian, allowing them to bring Adrian to Red Bull," the former Williams team manager continued.
Moreover, Windsor notes that Horner managed to keep Newey with the team for such a long time, while former McLaren team boss Ron Dennis and Williams founder Sir Frank Williams both failed to do so. "Christian has kept him all these years. Max wouldn’t have the career he has now, and Red Bull wouldn’t have Adrian, if it weren’t for Christian Horner. Whether this makes Christian a superstar at the same level as Max Verstappen, I’ll leave to others," Windsor said.
The analyst, therefore, believes Horner is more than deserving of the recent recognition. "Bringing together and sustaining the ingredients for success at Red Bull is where Christian has done a fantastic job, earning his CBE." Moreover, Windsor notes that Horner now shares the same honour with his childhood hero, former F1 driver Nigel Mansell.
