Hamilton reconnects with former colleague: 'Fight back to the top spot'
Lewis Hamilton announced last season that he will be active in Formula 1 for two more seasons. The seven-time world champion will have a confidant at his side in the 2024 season. Hamilton and Hynes' partnership ended in 2021 after they jointly decided it was the best option.
From 2016 to 2021, Hynes was the F1 driver's right-hand man. From the start of 2024, Hynes will handle the Mercedes driver's racing activities again. A Mercedes spokesperson told The Telegraph this news. “Lewis is looking forward to the beginning of the new Formula One season and he will be working with Marc Hynes," the Mercedes spokesperson explained.
Hynes focuses on racing activities Hamilton
"His long term friend and former colleague who will be providing his expertise to assist Lewis on the track. Marc will be solely focused on racing activities and supporting Lewis’s commitment to bringing the fight back to the top spot.”
Hamilton is still in his fight to win his eighth world championship. The Brit from Stevenage is equal to Michael Schumacher, though Hamilton has secured more wins and pole positions than the German.
