Liberty Media is still in the lead as the world's richest sports empire. In Forbes' top 25 most valuable sports, the owners of Formula 1 top the list with just under 17 billion euros.

In Forbes' Top 25, Liberty Media once again tops the list. With $18.2 billion (equivalent to 16.8 billion euros), the owners of F1 managed to hold on to the top spot. Liberty did lose 12 per cent as it parted ways with MLB team Atlanta Braves.

That's how much money F1 makes

Liberty thus holds a higher value than Kroene Sports and Entertainment. The owner of Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets and Arsenal FC, among others, is valued at $15.6 billion. In third place is Fenway Sports Group with $12.9 billion. This organisation owns Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Penguins and Liverpool FC.

The list includes two other names with F1 links. Stephan Ross, owner of the Miami Dolphins and promoter of the Miami GP, ranks 16th with a value of $6.9 billion. The 'Bamford family' is also in the list. They are the owner of JCB, the sponsor of Aston Martin.
