Many prominent figures from the world of motorsport have commented on Lewis Hamilton's future move to Ferrari in the wake of the high-profile news. Luca di Montezemolo, who was at the helm of the Italian car brand for many years when Michael Schumacher drove for Ferrari, called the move "unexpected and impressive".

Luca di Montezemolo: 'Will be fun between Leclerc and Hamilton'

Di Montezemolo hopes that the Mercedes driver's arrival could not only be useful for Ferrari's competitiveness, but that it will also shine the spotlight on the Italian team. "Hamilton is a great champion, he will want to do everything he can to end his career by winning the world championship," he told Italy's ANSA.

At the same time, the former Ferrari boss expects things to get interesting between Hamilton and Leclerc. "Leclerc is looking for his first title, it's going to be fun. But with two number-one drivers, it will be even more important to have a winning car. It is fundamental, otherwise this choice would prove to be a big risk," he warned.

Ralf Schumacher also wondered aloud how the internal battle would play out once Hamilton joins Ferrari. The former F1 driver expects that the Briton will try to obtain the number one status but also thinks that Leclerc is not willing to give up that status just like that.
