Wolff reassures Mercedes fans: 'I will always remain part of this team'

In the off-season, Mercedes' focus was on developing an entirely new concept car, which they hope will allow them mount a renewed attack on Red Bull Racing. Mercedes also announced that James Allison and Toto Wolff will stay with the F1 team for longer.
Wolff is happy that Allison will remain at Mercedes as technical director: "James is a great leader. He has been in the past and will be in the future. By re-signing him for a very long period, we have guaranteed stability at the very top of the tree. But there are many other very valuable leaders that have committed for the mid-to long term and others will join too. I think we have tried to really understand what organization we want to have in the future and I'm happy that we were able to do it without compromise," said the Austrian.
Wolff believes in stability at Mercedes
He himself committed to Mercedes as team boss for three more seasons. "I am going to always be part of this team as a shareholder but I felt that I am able to make
my best contribution as Team Principal and CEO. Last year allowed me to reflect on the areas that I can improve and that was important to give me perspective for the years to come. We have clarity at the top levels of the organisation and that stability will provide theteam with confidence."
On the driver front, incidentally, there is no stability for the coming years yet. Lewis Hamilton announced that he would swap Mercedes for Ferrari after 2024. For Wolff, the task ahead is to attract a replacement for the seven-time Formula 1 world champion.
