What has changed for Verstappen with his new personal trainer

A number of things will change for Max Verstappen in 2024. Not only will he get a new car, but the Dutchman will also get a new coach. Rupert Manwaring will take over from Bradley Scanes, who stepped down after last season.
Manwaring was the personal trainer of another Formula 1 driver for eight years. Carlos Sainz already worked with Verstappen's new trainer when he was still driving for Toro Rosso. Back in January, the Spaniard said goodbye to Manwaring by posting an emotional message on Instagram.
Verstappen is happy with the new trainer
Meanwhile, work has already begun for Manwaring. Verstappen has had a good feeling about the first phase of the collaboration: "He was obviously there in the past, so he knows what is needed. We have already enjoyed working together."
Verstappen was asked if he spoke to the new trainer so he could keep doing what he was used to. "We start with that a bit. And then, eventually, you adjust things, and of course, he also gives his input. Because of that, you do eventually come to your own training schedule."
Scanes was the Dutchman's personal trainer for four years. Asked whether a change might be nice, Verstappen replied: "Well, I don't think it's wrong to adapt a bit with some training sessions sometimes. And he understands that. I don't like training, so we must make it fun."
