Judgement day does not yet seem to have arrived for Christian Horner. The British newspaper Daily Mail assumed on Monday that the team boss would hear within 24 hours whether he could stay on following the investigation into the alleged inappropriate behaviour. It seems Horner is still waiting. At least to the outside world, there has been no communication as yet about his fate.

Meanwhile, the first Grand Prix of the season is fast approaching. As early as Saturday, the lights go out for the season's opening race, and it is still expected that a decision on Horner's future will have been made by Red Bull in Austria before that time. With an important Grand Prix ahead, Red Bull would probably prefer to avoid focusing on peripheral matters and turn their attention to the sporting aspect.

Horner is not present at the press conference

It was suggested by a reporter on X that Horner's absence from the team bosses' press conference on Friday is a sign of thins to come. It was pointed out by the reporter that for the past 10 years, the team boss of the reigning constructors' champion spoke to the media at the first Grand Prix the following season. He took it as a telling sign.

GPblog inquired with the FIA, which assured that nothing should be sought behind Horner's absence. According to the Motorsport Federation, they decided not to assign Horner for the press conference as he also participated in the media moment during the test last week. The fact is, by the way, that Toto Wolff (Mercedes) and Frederic Vasseur (Ferrari) will attend this media moment, having also joined in Bahrain.
