Bahrain Grannd Prix Results | Verstappen prevails, Sergio Perez on P2
98 days we had to wait for it, but finally the lights went out again! The first race of the 2024 season is over. The winner was anything but surprising. Max Verstappen managed to win the race with over 20 seconds ahead, no cars dropped out.
After just one lap, the Dutchman was already over a second ahead; he did not give that lead away during the 57 laps. At the first corner, Hulkenberg and Stroll managed to hit each other. The Canadian spun, but managed to drive away. The two did both go in for a quick pit stop. After ten laps, it looked like Logan Sargeant would retire after his engine stopped briefly and he had to restart it. The American was able to continue driving. It was not an exciting race. Notable was that Alonso was completely out of the race, Leclerc's brake balance being set wrong and a driver swap between the two VCARB cars.
