Verstappen is clear: 'Without Marko I won't continue at Red Bull'
If Helmut Marko is sidelined by Red Bull, they should expect Max Verstappen to do the same. Speaking to Dutch media, Verstappen is very adamant about his future with the team if Marko is indeed suspended.
Helmut Marko may be suspended by Red Bull GmbH. It is not yet official, but Marko himself fears he will be suspended in the near future. The Red Bull adviser indicated that even if he is not suspended, he may consider leaving the team. Max Verstappen was already adamant at the press conference but added to that in front of the Dutch media.
Why Verstappen wants to leave
''I don't see the option of him leaving. I have always made it clear that he has to stay with it. I cannot continue without him. Everyone has to stay in his role as it has always been, especially after the death of Dietrich Mateschitz. Everyone has their own tasks, and I have indicated that this must remain so for the future, as long as Helmut lives,'' the Red Bull driver told De Telegraaf and others.
Verstappen feels this has also been clearly communicated to Red Bull's Thai arm. He has always tied his fate to Marko and now stands by that. So, should Marko really have to make way, chances are that Verstappen will seek refuge elsewhere.
