Oliver Bearman can look back on a successful weekend. After having to get into Sainz's Ferrari after FP2, it all seemed to go quite smoothly for the 18-year-old Briton, who sees opportunities with the Haas F1 team after this weekend.

Asked if a permanent seat for him is in his future plan, Bearman responded the following: "I don't know what else I can do because I don't think I'll be in F1 for the rest of the year. So that'll be my goal, to do a great showing this weekend. I think I did a decent job, so that's all right and, yes, that's all I can do. Pushing in F2 and cross my fingers. That's it."

In addition to Ferrari, the Briton will also race for the Haas team, for which he will drive some free practice sessions. A seat there would be great for the Briton: "Yes, I have a lot of FPs with Haas this year, so looking forward to building up a relationship and gaining more miles in the car and hopefully the door can open. That would be fantastic."

Whether he may take over the Spaniard's seat for another weekend is not yet clear. Bearman even thinks Sainz will have recovered by then: "Honestly, I'm not sure. I've seen Carlos seems to be recovering really well and I'm happy for him because at the end it’s his car, his challenges. So, yes, I think he'll be fine and I hope he's good as well."
