The much-discussed seat next to Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing is vacant for 2025. Verstappen's current teammate, Sergio Perez, has already secured second place in the previous two races. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko sees no need to replace the Mexican in Red Bull's team anytime soon.

Last year, the Guadalajara-based driver naturally showed ambitions to become world champion. The Red Bull driver said he wanted to battle it out with Verstappen. Perez managed to win the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix and the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Apart from the Singapore Grand Prix, which Carlos Sainz won, Verstappen was able to win all other Grands Prix.

Perez knows that he is Red Bull's second driver, and he has performed satisfactorily so far this season. Marko also sees this.

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany in Australia, Marko explained Perez's situation. His contract expires at the end of the season. "He has driven two very good races. He is second in the world championship. The question of who should replace Perez now is not really an issue. It's about the future," explained the 80-year-old man from Graz.
