Angela Cullen is back in motorsport. The former physiotherapist and assistant to Lewis Hamilton was spotted at a track again this weekend. She is now supporting her compatriot Marcus Armstrong in his second season in IndyCar.
Cullen is the new trainer of IndyCar driver Marcus Armstrong this season. Cullen is helping her compatriot, both born in New Zealand, in his second season in IndyCar. Armstrong competes for the Chip Ganassi Racing team.
Cullen back in motorsport
Armstrong was considered a great talent for many years, but failed to make the step towards F1. Armstrong was attached to Ferrari's Academy from 2017 to 2021 and won the prestigious Italian F4 championship. Armstrong still finished second in the Formula 3 championship in 2019 but did not go beyond four wins in three years of F2. In 2023, he switched to America.
For Cullen, it is a return to motorsport since leaving F1 in early 2023. Cullen had been by Hamilton's side since 2016 and was seen as a key friend of the seven-time world champion in addition to being his physio.
