Verstappen dissatisfied: 'We are behind the times this weekend'
So far, the Formula 1 weekend in Australia seems to be tough for Max Verstappen and Red Bull. He ran into some problems during the free practice sessions, and the first two parts of qualifying did not quite go to plan either. Nevertheless, the Dutchman managed to take pole position.
In the first free practice session in Australia, Max Verstappen sustained damage to the floor of his Red Bull. As a result, he missed part of the second free practice session. This is precious time.
During qualifying in Australia, everything was still not to the three-time world champion's liking. He complained a lot about understeer during the session. In the first and second parts of qualifying, the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz was faster. Still, Verstappen managed to find some extra speed in the third part.
Red Bull found some more speed
This is because the team made some minor adjustments during qualifying. Still, the team was more behind than the Dutchman would have liked. "The same in qualifying. I think Q1 and Q2 were still quite difficult for me. We just tried to fine-tune the little things that we could throughout qualifying. They made that little difference to push a bit harder," said the Dutchman after qualifying in Australia.
