Stake F1 Team also penalised after dangerous situation in pit lane

Besides Fernando Alonso receiving a 20-second time penalty after being found guilty of dangerous driving, Stake F1 Team will also receive a penalty. The team will have to pay a fine to the FIA.

During a pit stop by Valtteri Bottas, things went wrong for the team from Switzerland. The stop was slow as the team failed to control a wheel nut. Bottas was eventually able to continue his way, but was only 14th.

Stewards' verdict after Stake F1 Team incident

The stewards listened to Stake's story and reviewed the footage surrounding the incident. From this, they judged that the team caused a potentially dangerous situation in the pit lane. Bottas will not receive a time penalty, but his team will be fined €5,000.
