'Adrian Newey receives multi-million dollar offer from Aston Martin: talks already underway'
Red Bull designer Adrian Newey has received a multimillion-dollar offer from constructor Aston Martin, Motorsport.com reports . The offer was reportedly made over the weekend of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, when both parties stayed at the same hotel. Newey had received offers before, but partly due to his high salary, no one could get him away from Milton Keynes.
Adrian Newey to Aston Martin?
Aston Martin's Lawrence Stroll and Newey have met at a hotel in Saudi Arabia. Talks are said to have been held there for a possible new workplace for the 65-year-old designer. Newey is one of today's most coveted Formula 1 designers and has currently helped produce the best car on the grid.
Recently, there has been talk that Newey might go to Ferrari. He saw it as a missed opportunity that he had never designed a car for the Italian team. So if the rumours are true, Newey might be thinking about a move to Aston Martin instead of Ferrari. GPblog asked Aston Martin for a comment, but the team would not comment on the rumours.
