Rumours abound about who will end up in the second Red Bull seat next season. Sergio Perez 's contract is expiring and other teams are watching developments around the Mexican with big eyes. Top advisor Helmut Marko tells OE24 that he is not being rushed by other teams.

There has long been talk of Perez's future at Red Bull. Last year, rumours emerged that the Mexican would no longer drive for the team as early as 2024. Meanwhile, Perez is still there, but there is a lot of talk about his contract expiring after 2024. There are many drivers whose contracts are expiring and so Red Bull is looking around carefully.

However, according to Marko, there are also teams watching the situation at Red Bull. He is very clear on this, though: "We will not be put under pressure. Audi [which will enter Formula 1 in 2026] apparently want a decision. We are looking at everything at our pace. When we have enough overview, we will decide on our drivers."

The top adviser then stressed that a longer stay is also a possibility: "Everything is an option. Our team is doing very well at the moment. If he [Perez] has a two-year contract, there is a risk of him slacking off."
