Andretti reveals big plans: 'Want to race in F2 and F3 with our teams too'

Besides entering Formula 1, Andretti Racing plans to enter Formula 2 and Formula 3. The intention behind this is to give more American drivers a chance to show that they are ready to compete in the top class of motorsport.
A driver from the United States has been driving in Formula 1 since last season, but in the many years before that, F1 went without an American driver. Since 2023, the calendar has featured three Grands Prix in the United States, but the recruitment of talented drivers from the US remains low.
Andretti wants to change that by giving young talent a chance with the new programme they have in mind. The factory at Silverstone, which opened on Wednesday, should be the base of operations.
Andretti explains
"Our goal is to have an F3/F2 team to help support the F1 team, and then maybe even a WEC team. So we want to make this our hub for the European racing. So a lot of a lot of cool plans in this area," Michael Andretti told Autosport.com. "It's not just American drivers, but it'll be a good ladder for American drivers."
The team owner continued: "We're going to still be looking for the best talent in the world. But it's going to give an American driver a fair chance, because normally when an American comes over here, they're not treated the same. Here in our team, you're going to be treated fairly, all the way up through the system and plus for us, we'll then be able to really tell the talent, how real it is or not."
