Rain in Shanghai: Sprint shootout to be wet, with slippy conditions
Just before the start of the sprint shootout in China, rain has started to fall over the Shanghai International Circuit. Will this shake things up?
According to Weather.com's forecast, the chance of rain persists. During sprint qualifying, there is about a 50% chance of precipitation, so we may well be in for a very treacherous session where timing is everything. The track will be damp following the dry first free practice, so a dryline will emerge if it doesn't rain any more.
In any case, teams will have to consider all scenarios and ensure their drivers are sent out in time. You can follow the sprint shootout in our liveblog.
