Sainz is desperate to leave Ferrari just now
With Lewis Hamilton's arrival at Scuderia Ferrari in 2025, Carlos Sainz now finds himself in a search for a new racing seat. The unexpected departure from the Italian team has left a feeling of disappointment and frustration with the Spaniard.
Between feelings of pride and farewell
Sainz has mixed feelings about his departure from the team, mainly because of the time and energy he has put into the collaboration. "The fact that all this hard work and all the time that I’ve spent in Maranello helping this team, and developing together with this team, creating a project that now is starting to pay off. It makes me feel very happy about this year and a bit sad about the fact that we cannot continue the journey together because I feel like in a way we’re doing a good job together and everything is taking the correct shape into the future and into the revolution change of '26"
After four years of driving for Ferrari, it will be time to say goodbye, but Sainz does see a bright spot in the situation. "I think, you always need to see things once things happen and then look back. Like when I left Toro Rosso at the time and Renault at the time, and now when you look back, everything makes sense how life planned out," the driver says. "And this is another case of maybe in the future look back and see how it all played out."
