Pirelli say this is the best F1 strategy for the Chinese Grand Prix
Pirelli has announced the possible race strategies for the Chinese Grand Prix. The Formula 1 tyre supplier expects mainly two-stoppers, with different options for F1 teams to address that.
Pirelli expects two-stoppers in Chinese GP
There was quite a lot of degradation during Saturday's sprint race. George Russell was, therefore, the only one who dared to opt for the soft for the 100km dash. Mercedes made that choice because he had to come from 11th place. In the end, Russell managed to move towards the front and take a point.
Pirelli does not expect much driving on softs during the China GP, except the early and closing stages. Most drivers are expected to start on mediums, after which they will switch to hard tyres at their first pit stop. They can then choose to go long and make another change to mediums or softs, but a second stint on the hards is also a possibility.
Check out the possible race strategies below, as well as which tyre sets - and how many - the drivers have left.
