Horner thinks Verstappen is almost inhuman in F1

Horner impressed with Verstappen: 'On another planet'

Max Verstappen crossed the line first for the fourth time this season. No one even came close to winning the Chinese Grand Prix in the end. He told Sky Sports that Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner is heavily impressed by the Dutchman.

The Brit said: "He's been on fantastic form all weekend. But the team as well have been outstanding this weekend. To win the sprint, to get the front row, the pole position and the front row lockout for the race and then a 1-3 in the race, I felt we were slightly unlucky with a safety car, but that's the way it goes sometimes with Checo. But Max has just been, he's on another planet at the moment. His form is absolutely fantastic".

Verstappen now leads the World Championship by 25 points. The same amount of points on offer for a race victory without the bonus point for the fastest lap.

Horner: 'Verstappen is almost unhuman'

When asked what Verstappen's secret is, Horner says: "It varies from circuit to circuit, but he's just totally at one with the machine. And he has this unbelievable feel and empathy with the car. He has the ability to understand the tyres, what they need, when they need to be pushed, when they need to be saved. And he's just got this incredible racing brain as well. It's almost unhuman what he's capable of. But it's a pleasure to work with and he is writing history."
