Windsor sees Verstappen do something new in China: 'Different from before'
Max Verstappen has won the Chinese Grand Prix for the first time in his Formula 1 career. The Dutchman was not seriously troubled once despite the safety cars. Peter Windsor also saw a strong race by Verstappen in China, he says in his race analysis on his YouTube channel.
The weekend did not start ideally for the Dutchman. Rain at the end of sprint qualifying prevented him from getting beyond a fourth-starting spot for the sprint race. Verstappen did win that sprint race itself, and for the rest of the weekend, he was unstoppable.
Windsor finds Verstappen's victory impressive
Windsor starts his story by saying that Verstappen won again: "But every Grand Prix victory has its own taste, has its own feel, and sure enough, this was very different from anything Max had achieved before. A very impressive display from beginning to end."
Verstappen missed just one point to make it a perfect score in China. Indeed, Fernando Alonso picked up the fastest lap due to his divergent strategy. "But Max won't worry about that," Windsor said. "This was a complete victory yet again. Very little to trouble him. A little bit of concern towards the end of the race about the amount of debris on the track, and there was a lot of debris."
