Lance Stroll was once again in the spotlight after he crashed into Daniel Ricciardo. Especially after the race, the Canadian did not seem to want to appease the fans nor his fellow drivers. In every interview, Stroll declared it was not his fault. Jan Lammers, who drove 41 races in Formula 1, also has his issues with the situation.

On Lap 27 of the Chinese Grand Prix, Stroll did not seem to brake on time, causing him to crash into the back of the VCARB of Daniel Ricciardo, who could smile a little less after the race. During an interview, Ricciardo got angry again after he tried to calm himself down. Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and Sergio Perez, who formed the podium in China, watched Stroll and Ricciardo's crash in the green room in shock. The Dutchman's first reaction was to laugh.

Lammers on the Ricciardo and Stroll incident

Lammers talked about Ricciardo's perspective in the NOS Formula 1 podcast. "That something like that happens seems sillier than it really is, because it can really surprise you, because Alonso braked. It was almost like Ricciardo drove into Piastri in his own power. I don't know if he could have avoided that had Stroll not driven into him from the back, so Ricciardo was very close to Piastri anyway."

Regarding Stroll, the Dutchman did not have a good word to say. "It was just a stupid action, he was just not paying attention. But what made it particularly stupid was his reaction, so in that respect it was understandable that Ricciardo was 'pissed' about that," Lammers concluded.
