Horner critical of Miami circuit: 'Not the best track in the world'
This coming weekend, Formula 1 is back in Miami. It is now the third time it will be driven on the street circuit around the Hard Rock Stadium. Christian Horner tells what his expectations are for the Grand Prix.
The Grand Prix Miami is one of three Grands Prix held in the United States. The fact that there are as many as three races these days is not surprising. Because of the Netflix series Drive to Survive, there are now lots of American viewers of F1. The addition of American Grands Prix should raise the sport's profile even more in the United States.
Horner's opinion on Miami Grand Prix
For every Grand Prix held in Miami so far, we have seen spectacular shows. While Horner appreciates the event, he has a small comment: "I think, look, Miami, it's a great event. It's not the best racetrack in the world, but it is a fantastic event. And Miami is such a special place to be racing. I thought the second year at Miami was better than the first. I've got no doubt the third year will be even better again."
As in Shanghai, the weekend in Miami will be a sprint weekend again. Horner says: "With this sprint format, it's another dynamic as well. Racing in the US is always special. I think it's going to be a hugely attended race. So, it's always a big one, always a busy one."
