This is how Perez has reacted to Adrian Newey's exit news at Red Bull

Sergio Perez is hoping for a new contract at Red Bull Racing. Should the Mexican get a new commitment for 2025, he will no longer race in a car directly attributed to Adrian Newey, but it will be an evolution. The British designer announced last week that he was parting ways with the team that became so extremely successful partly because of him. Ahead of the Grand Prix weekend in Miami, Perez addressed Newey's departure.
Newey's departure is a big blow for Red Bull. Perez knows it's not ideal. "It's obviously not ideal. Someone like Adrian has been tremendous to our team, to our organisation. It's obviously not ideal. Someone like Adrian has been tremendous to our team, to our organisation. He's obviously a very good friend of mine as well in this time that we spent together. But at the end of the day, there are times in life. I think he spent 20 years at Red Bull. I think he probably wants to do something else. It's fair."
Perez then indicated that Red Bull has a good future even without Newey. "Red Bull is in a great place. It has a very strong organisation with Pierre, with Enrico, with Ben. I think the whole aero group is very strong. We're just looking forward to the future. You've seen in the past with these big teams, big names, when they leave, they will always exist. It doesn't matter. It's not down to one single individual, it's the whole organisation."
Perez happy with Horner
The Mexican closes with a compliment to team boss Christian Horner. "Christian has done a great job in preparing for the next generation of what's going to happen at Red Bull," he said.
