Now that it is known that Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull Racing, speculation is rife about where the team's former chief technical officer is going. Aston Martin is mentioned, but the biggest name being discussed is Ferrari. Lewis Hamilton, who will drive for the Scuderia from 2025, reacted for the first time to the chances of Newey moving to Ferrari.

Newey is known as a top designer. For years, he proved his worth at Red Bull Racing. For instance, he contributed to Sebastian Vettel's and Max Verstappen's world titles. Before joining the Austrian team, he was successful at McLaren, Williams, and others.

Hamilton wants to work with Newey

When asked if Hamilton would like to see Newey come, Hamilton replied: "He's got such a great history and track record, and, obviously, he just does an amazing job throughout his career in engaging with teams and the knowledge that he has. I think he would be an amazing addition. I think they've [Ferrari] already got a great team, they're already making huge progress and strides forwards, their car’s quicker this year. It would be a privilege to work with him."

Hamilton was then asked another question about whether he has spoken to Ferrari about a possibility of Newey actually coming. The seven-time world champion said "This is all private conversation stuff, but if I was to do a list of people that I'd love to work with, he would absolutely be at the top of that."
