Provisional starting grid sprint race Miami | Verstappen from pole, Ricciardo P4
Max Verstappen will start the sprint race from pole position at 5pm BST on Saturday. In the sprint shootout, the Red Bull driver showed his class, achieving the fastest time in Miami. The driver himself saw P1 as an absolute surprise, as the Dutchman did not think he was doing well at all.

Behind Verstappen will start the 'qualifying monster', as he is sometimes characterised, Charles Leclerc. In the blue-tinted SF-24, the Monegasque driver will start alongside Verstappen on the front row of the grid. P3 is where Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez qualified, who was just a bit faster than Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian was hugely pleased with his P4.
It was a dramatic shootout for the Mercedes team. George Russell and Lewis Hamilton both failed to get into SQ3 and will have to make do with P11 and P12 on Saturday. Alexander Albon will start at the very back, as the man who is often associated with Red Bull failing to get through SQ1 in Miami.
