Verstappen sees stronger Ferrari than usual

Verstappen wary of Ferrari: 'More competitive than usual'

Max Verstappen is very confident ahead of the Miami Grand Prix. Ferrari sees Verstappen as his biggest rival, but the Dutchman knows how to beat them.

Qualifying did not go as desired for Verstappen. Although the Dutchman took pole position, the balance was not yet as it should be. However, it seems to be a problem everyone is struggling with in Miami. Grip is hard to find and it will be no different during the race.

Why Verstappen struggled with the balance

"It's just really tricky for everyone here. It's a bit unpredictable here, making it a bit more interesting. It's been quite difficult, but as long as we are first, I'm happy," Verstappen revealed prior to the GP.

The red tyre, which caused many problems in qualifying, is unlikely to be used by Verstappen during the race: "Yes, you can see from the past races here that the tyres are just a bit too soft. They don't last long enough. But you never know, if there is a safety car at certain points into race, it might come into play. But normally you drive on the harder tyre."

Verstappen starts from pole position with the two Ferraris behind him. In the sprint race, Verstappen easily held the lead, but does he expect the same for the GP? "They are definitely more competitive than at other races, but if we use our own strengths, we can have a good race."
