Lando Norris plans to stay up all night and celebrate in Miami after winning his first Formula 1 Grand Prix. The British driver benefitted from a safety car but had the pace to keep Max Verstappen firmly behind. In fact, the McLaren driver opened up a seven-second lead by the time he crossed the line.

Norris plans to party hard

Norris sustained a very minor injury the weekend before the Miami Grand Prix. He was celebrating in Amsterdam when he cut his nose. The Brit joked about that when discussing his celebration plans.

"I was meant to fly but Zak just told me we fly tomorrow so I'm not going to sleep. I'm going all the way. I might have more than just a scratch on my nose tomorrow, so I don't care, but I'll enjoy my time. This only happens once when you're taking your first win. It's nice to do it here in Miami," Norris said.

Norris admitted that he wished his first Grand Prix victory had been at his home race, the British Grand Prix, and he vows to try to repeat the feat at Silverstone in July. Max Verstappen reminded Norris that Miami provides a better night out than Silverstone.

"True. So tonight's going to be a good night. I'll have a great time," Norris concluded. Norris has received many congratulations from his fellow drivers after the victory in the United States. Hamilton advised the British driver to stay an extra night rather than fly home immediately. McLaren CEO Zak Brown is open to getting another tattoo for his personal celebrations.
