Oliver Bearman returns to F1 action at Imola
For the first time since the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where he finished in seventh place ahead of Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton, Oliver Bearman will now return to Formula One at Imola. The young Briton will drive a Haas car in FP1.
Oliver Bearman will now have some more extracurricular activities added to his Formula 2 season. The British driver will return to driving an F1 car at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, as he will replace Kevin Magnussen during FP1. He will have a busy day at the Italian circuit, as on Friday, F2's free practice session will begin at 11:05 local time, then FP1 will start at 13:30. Then he will return to F2 to complete in qualifying at 16:00.
"I’m really looking forward to re-joining the team and taking part in the FP1 in Imola. The team is having a strong season and I’m hoping, with the extra experience I have since our last time together, I’ll be able to help continue the run of form they’re in," Bearman said ahead of the weekend in Italy.
This will be Bearman's third free practice session with Haas, as he previously tested their car last year in Mexico and Abu Dhabi. He only competed in one practice session in 2024, after it was announced ahead of FP3 of the Saudi Arabian GP that Carlos Sainz would not be able to drive. Bearman finished 10th in FP3 at Jeddah.
