Lewis Hamilton not bothered by lack of familiar faces at Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton will be making another bold career choice when he moves to Ferrari in 2025. The seven-time world champion will leave Mercedes after an 11-year stint with the Silver Arrows, where he won six of his world titles. Hamilton was criticised heavily after leaving McLaren for Mercedes at the end of 2012, as many didn't believe a move to Mercedes was the right path for his career. Of course, that switch was a successful one. Will the Brit be able to replicate that masterstroke at the legendary Italian team?

Hamilton does not need familiar faces:

The 103-time Grand Prix winner was asked if the lack of familiarity with Ferrari would affect him, especially after such a long stint at a team which built itself around Hamilton.

He said: "When I moved to Mercedes, I didn't know anybody, and that was totally fine, so I don't think that makes a big difference to me. But obviously, Loic (Serra), I worked with for many, many years, so I have a great working relationship with Loic as well. And my first number two mechanic works at that team, so they're the only two I think I know particularly well, as well as Fred (Vasseur)."

Lewis Hamilton previously worked with Fred Vasseur before F1. The Frenchman was the team principal of the ART Grand Prix team when Hamilton won the GP2 title. Their ties stretch deep into Lewis Hamilton's junior career. Loic Serra is a longtime engineer at Mercedes and will move to Ferrari before his colleague Hamilton in October of this year.

Hamilton remains adamant that he will not be affected by the drastic change, and time will tell whether or not the fresh start reignites his career. Could he win his eighth title with Ferrari?
