Fighting talk from Norris: "Definitely have the speed to challenge"
Lando Norris will be hoping that he can make it two Grand Prix wins in a row after his maiden victory two weeks ago at the Miami Grand Prix. Norris will start alongside Max Verstappen in P2 after he qualified within a tenth of a second of the Dutchman, with his updated McLaren looking just as competitive as it did in the USA, and he will be looking to challenge Verstappen at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
'Car has been great all weekend' says a positive Norris
Speaking at the drivers' parade before the race around the iconic Imola track, Norris painted a positive picture before the lights go out on Sunday's race. Norris started by saying: "I'm starting much higher up than I was in Miami, so it's a little bit easier, but we'll see. The car's been great all weekend. I've been feeling good, so I'm excited. It should be a fun race, maybe not an easy one, but I definitely think we have the speed to challenge Ferrari and Red Bull.
"In some ways you want opportunities, in some ways you don't, because we're in a good position," continued the 24-year-old. "I think we have the speed. It's just making the most of the little opportunities we're going to have. But especially with more gravel here and it is such a tricky track, it's easy for people to make mistakes, and that causes safety cars and VSCs and things like that. I'm sure it's probably going to be more hectic than everyone thinks, and we'll try to make the most of it."
