Albon saves Sargeant with vital radio message
Whilst Alex Albon might have failed to finish yesterday's that didn't stop him from sharing some words of advice over the radio to help his teammate Logan Sargeant. In the end, the Williams driver was able to finish 17th.
Imola proved to be a challenging weekend for Albon, who caused a red flag in Friday's first free-practice session after his car lost power and shut down after going over the kerb.
During Sunday's race, Albon's issues started with his right tyre not being attached properly during a pit-stop, which also led him to receive a 10 second penalty. After it was clear Albon was unlikely to score points, the team used the race as a data collecting session before retiring the car.
'It's better'
Nevertheless, Albon continued to support his team mate by sharing some valuable insight over the radio: "I don't know if it helps Logan but just run at a really low BMIG and then just use a rotation to go up to 7. But the lower the BMIG the better. Run it at 58%."
He then added: "If he's struggling with understeer in turn 7, go wide. It's better."
In the end, Sargeant finished ahead of Sauber's Valterri Bottas, who has been rumoured to replace Sargeant at Williams, and Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso.
