Verstappen will also combine Spa 24-hour race with Grand Prix weekend

Max Verstappen was busy at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. Besides the Formula 1 race in Imola, the Red Bull Racing driver also competed in the virtual Nurburgring 24-hour race on behalf of Team Redline. It is not the last time Verstappen will have to combine his pursuits, with another virtual 24-hour race coinciding with an F1 weekend this year.
Verstappen to combine F1 weekend with a sim race again
In Imola, Verstappen had his simulator installed in his motorhome so that he could take part in the virtual 24-hour race in addition to the F1 race. We might see the Dutchman doing that again soon: as the virtual 24 hours of Spa-Francorchamps coincides with the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The real 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will be held this year on the weekend of 30 June. Three weeks later, iRacing will host the virtual edition of the event. That will take place from 19 to 21 July, the same weekend as the F1 race in Budapest. So unless Verstappen passes up the virtual event, it will be another busy weekend for the reigning world champion.
The sim race at Nurburgring, in which Verstappen accounted for several stints the evening and morning before the GP in Imola, was won by the Dutchman's team. After his final stint, in which he finished in a leading position, his teammates drove the number 20 car of Team Redline to victory.
