Ferrari's team principal, Frederic Vasseur, is looking ahead to the Monaco Grand Prix after the Scuderia finished in third and fifth place at their home race in Imola. In front of the adoring Tifosi, Ferrari was unable to close in on Red Bull and McLaren in Imola, although a substantial aerodynamics package was placed on both SF-24s. So, what is the Frenchman expecting from Monaco?

Vasseur told GPblog and others in the paddock that he is more optimistic for the Canadian Grand Prix, as he feels as if Ferrari can demonstrate their improvements much clearer in Montreal. "If we can show something in Monaco, I will take it," says Vasseur as he laughs. "Canada will be a different track layout with very high speed. As soon as you start to cover different types of corners, different average speeds and different minimum speeds, you have a better understanding of the situation."

Monaco 'difficult to predict', says Vasseur

"It's very, very difficult to predict Monaco. What I can say is that I will have two drivers who are very motivated and so far we have always been competitive in Monaco. But again, this one is very, very difficult to predict. It's not that you can compare the type of corners of Monaco with another one. The grip is different, and it's not a matter of speed into the corner. It's very often the mechanism of the track. And so it's better to also go to Monaco and to avoid to have a kind of ideal picture in mind that you have to go there and to push." Concluded Vasseur, who will be hoping his legendary team, etched with history, can perform on the iconic Monte-Carlo circuit.
