FP2 results | Leclerc tops timesheets, Verstappen fourth
- GPblog.com
During the first free practice, Red Bull was slightly behind their competition, though they were using the medium tyre at the time. During the second free practice, Verstappen was still not quite there. Home hero Charles Leclerc once again proved to be the fastest in Monaco in the second free practice.
Drivers started the second free practice mostly on hard and medium tyres. With about forty minutes to go, most drivers changed tyres for the soft tyre. So did Max Verstappen. He had not driven on the soft tyre in the first free practice, so many were waiting to see his speed on the compund.
The Dutchman's speed on the soft tyre seemed disappointing. Charles Leclerc in his Ferrari was a lot faster. The streets in Monaco are notoriously narrow as several drivers briefly hit the wall. Fortunately, there were no major crashes.
