Top Red Bull executive extends their contract
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing is busy trying to keep its engineering team together. Chief engineer Paul Monaghan will remain attached to the Milton Keynes-based team, according to Motorsport.com. Earlier, it was announced that Pierre Waché, Enrico Balbo and Ben Waterhouse had signed on to new, long-term commitments.
Max Verstappen's team are keeping together some key members of their squad. As is well known, Adrian Newey is leaving after nearly 20 years of service, but the other leaders are all staying on board. This is important news heading towards 2026, when the new regulations take effect in Formula 1.
As chief engineer, Monaghan is responsible for optimally tuning the RB20 during Grands Prix. Feedback that goes from Max Verstappen's onboard radio reaches Gianpiero Lambiase. After Lambiase has filtered things, it reaches Monoghan.
The Brit has been around Red Bull for years. Monaghan joined the Austrian team in 2005, having previously worked for McLaren, Benetton and Renault at a young age.
