Like Imola last weekend, the free practice session have been extremely scrappy for Red Bull. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have both had issues with their RB20 bouncing around the iconic streets of Monaco, and although Verstappen was able to finish in P2 in FP3, it looks like he is well off the pace of Charles Leclerc's Ferrari. Jenson Button 2009 race-winner of the Monaco Grand Prix, believes that it's going to get even worse for the Austrian team come qualifying.

Button says Red Bull will "struggle more" during qualifying after a scrappy practice

Speaking with Sky Sports, who Button is working for this weekend, before FP3, the 2009 World Champion does jot Red Bull a chance to take pole position, the most important pole position of the year. "Every bump they hit, it's bouncing around the track. When you don't have that confidence in the car, it's really difficult to push on a circuit like Monaco."

With the street circuit nature of Monaco, it is vital to be on pole, as overtaking is all but impossible. Verstappen will be searching for a record nine pole positions in a row in Monte Carlo after taking the first eight of the season in 2024. Even in Imola when the Red Bull was way off the pace, the Dutchman pulled it out of the fire and found P1. However, Button cannot see any improvement coming from the Austrian team. "I think Red Bull will struggle more in Qualifying. I think everyone else will get quicker and I don't think they will move forward. It's going to be a very competitive top 10, so all the way through Qualifying it will be tricky for everyone."
