Ferrari had a great qualifying session. Charles Leclerc may start his home race from pole position. However, Frederic Vasseur is still a bit cautious to Sky Sports.
Vasseur reaction after pole Leclerc in Monaco
"The race is tomorrow," the Ferrari team principal said after qualifying in the Principality of Monaco. "You don't score points on Saturday, we just have to stay calm and prepare for tomorrow."
When one is in pole position in Monaco, something has to go wrong still to give up a victory. Overtaking is incredibly difficult on the street circuit, as there are no very long straights and it is quite tight.
Still, the team principal stated: "It's a good statement, a pole in Monaco is always the best position for the race, and in itself a good challenge and a good reward. But now, the most important thing is tomorrow and we have to do a job tomorrow."
"The challenge is to continue to improve with the track and this is not easy because when you are leading the field you have quite a different sensation that it is going well and you don't have to push much more."But with the evolution, you have to improve ever single lap and be like this until the end," Vasseur concluded.
