Guenther Steiner left Haas F1 at the end of last season. Since then, he has been in the paddock working as a TV Pundit for RTL, a German broadcaster. But could Steiner return to the sport as a team principal?

Steiner became a face for Formula 1 after the success of Drive to Survive on Netflix. However, after losing his position as team principal at Haas at the end of 2023, Steiner could return to the sport as a team boss again, but only if the right opportunity and project came up.

Speaking on the Formula for Success podcast with David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan, Steiner didn't deny that he would return to the sport. When asked about his future by former Red Bull driver Coulthard, Steiner first admitted "What I'm doing now, I'm enjoying because I learned so much more which in the future can be an advantage to me.". Despite this Steiner went on to say "The next thing is if there is a project around, could be an existing team, a new team, whatever, to get on the podium."

During Steiner's tenure as team principal at Haas, they secured a best finish of fourth with Romain Grosjean at the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix

Steiner did admit he misses Formula 1 but also said "I've done it, got my T-shirt, I can move on. If there is something I can do to have success, and success now means podiums then I'm going to do it. If that doesn't come up, I'm pretty happy where I am.”
