Alpine have released another frontrunner. The French team have said goodbye to Operating Director Rob White. He spent many years working for Alpine and also at their predecessor Renault.
White had worked for Renault since 2004 and moved to Enstone in 2016, the year Renault returned to F1 full-time. The Briton was Renault's deputy director att the Viry-Chatillon engine division when the company won world titles with Fernando Alonso in '05 and '06.
Alpine thanks White for services rendered
A press release announcing the departure was not sent by Alpine. When asked by the BBC, a spokesperson informed, "The team is thankful for Rob's efforts during his long career both at Enstone and at Viry-Chatillon, where he led the championship-winning engine project in 2005 and 2006. We wish him the best in his future endeavours."
White is not the first to leave the team. Since last summer, team principal Otmar Szafnauer and sporting director Alan Permane, among others, left. Technical director Matt Harman and head of aerodynamics Dirk de Beer stepped down earlier this season.
