Ferrari is the most iconic and successful team in Formula 1, and the Italians have also risen to the top in endurance racing. Perhaps there is another racing class in which Ferrari will shine. Indeed, the CEO of Formula E hints that talks have been held with the Italians about joining the electric class.

Within weeks, Ferrari will introduce its first all-electric street car. To make it, the company set up a new factory. This investment cost around 500 million euros. With a first electric model on the market, Ferrari wants to continue working on the electrification of its fleet and this has attracted the interest of the Formula E organisation.

CEO Formula E a bit secretive about Ferrari

Which is constantly trying to entice new manufacturers to enter the sport. There also seems to have been contact with Ferrari, Jeff Dodds, the CEO of FE, hinted in conversation with Motorsport.com. When asked specifically if there have been talks with Ferrari, he kept it a bit vague: "Maybe."

Ferrari, through a spokesperson, when asked, let it be known that Formula E is not its priority at the moment. "Our focus today is on F1 and endurance - and [we] have recently announced we will be taking the race where we never have before - water," the Italian racing stable said. By the latter remark, Ferrari is referring to setting up a sailing project.
