In recent years Red Bull Racing have continued to dominate. However, this season, they have been seen struggling, whilst other teams like McLaren and Ferrari have been able to feature at the top of the podium. Ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, Lando Norris shared his excitement for a title race.

Last season it was almost expected that a Red Bull would win a race. There was only one race, Singapore, where a Red Bull driver did not win. This season has been different, with a win by Lando Norris in Miami, and two Ferrari wins, in both Melbourne and Monaco. Speaking to GPblog and others in the paddock, Norris shared how exciting it is that there is now a title race on the cards, compared to last year: "It's good for all of us," he said. "Like in the team, it's just knowing you have hope, you have a chance at least is something that's great."

Although Red Bull currently sit at the top of the Constructors table, Ferrari aren't far behind. There is only a 24 points difference between the top two teams. McLaren sit in third, 68 points behind Ferrari. This weekend, it seems all three teams have the chance to fight for victory: "For me, for any driver on the grid or at least the guys in the top six cars, then we're all coming into it. Maybe this is how we can, if we can make that extra little bit of difference, you can find that last hundredth and I think that makes everyone push it even more," Norris added.

'It's more exciting for everyone watching'

As well as being more exciting for the drivers and their teams, Norris agrees that with a title fight, it makes the racing more exciting for fans too. "It's better for the fans and better for people watching. That's really the best part of all of it, is that people watching are like, who could win this weekend rather than he's [Max Verstappen] going to win again," said the McLaren driver.

"It's exciting for the team and it's more exciting for everyone watching," he concluded.
