Hamilton feels "very fortunate" to have an F1 seat for next season

With the announcement this week that Sergio Perez has re-signed with Red Bull Racing, more than half the grid is still left to confirm their line up for 2025. Speaking at Thursday's press conference ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton expressed his opinions on this season's drivers market, and how he feels very fortunate to have signed his 2025 contract so early on.
In February, Hamilton announced he would be leaving Mercedes and moving to Ferrari for 2025. This arguably triggered the chaos of the drivers market. Whilst subsequent announcements have followed from others such as Perez, Alex Albon and Nico Hulkenberg, other drivers who have contracts ending this season are yet to reveal where they will be going.
In the press conference, Hamilton agreed that he did kick things off this season, but still finds it exciting himself to find out where other drivers are going. "I think it's quite exciting now. No one knows who's going where. Bit by bit, you see it through drips throughout the season. I think when you do have drivers moving around, it does cause this bit of chaos."
'Lucky and fortunate'
With the early signing of Hamilton, it meant Ferrari confirmed their 2025 driver line up early on, which will include Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. For Hamilton, it means the team can already look ahead to the next season. "We're lucky and feel very fortunate that we've got something locked in, and that really enables you to plan for your future and really channel your energy. But it's exciting for us to now see what's going to happen. And I think that's where everyone's moving," he concluded.
